PHILIPP PLEIN was selected to
create a 50th anniversary Barbie Doll for the Feb 9th, 2009
worlds biggest toy fair in Nurenberg, Germany. The occasion
was one-of-a-kind, so the aim of Philipp Plein was to give
Barbie a glamorous and noble appearance, underlining her
timeless beauty but still making a statement for a high end
fashion queen. The dress, made of precious Jakob Schlaepfer
Haute Couture fabric from Switzerland, was decorated by hand
with CRYSTALLIZED Swarovski Elements. The PHILIPP PLEIN
ROCKS BARBIE will now be available late this year as a 999
piece limited edition Platinum Level exclusive and only
distributed at selected retailers in Germany as well as the
House of Barbie in Shanghai and a very limited number in
Canada and the United States. The silk dress will include
600-700 CRYSTALLIZED Swarovski Elements. All information is
